Notable landmarks around the city are the many volcanic cones including the largest, Rangitoto Island a few kilometres out into the Hauraki Gulf. Another very visible feature in Auckland is the Skytower, the highest building in the Southern Hemisphere. The weather is mild all year round, with plenty of rain through the winter months. |
