During the Holidays the old library and two classrooms disappeared and were relocated up near the back gate

Early October
The library and two classrooms disappeared and left a huge mud hole.

Mid October
All the old wooden piles were pulled out and a high retaining wall was built to hold up the bank.

Mid October
New concrete foundations were poured and all the clay was taken away in trucks. It was very muddy after the rain.

Late October
The builders used a special tool to get everything level and some of the men layed the concrete blocks for the bottom of the building.

A Few Days Later ...
A concrete pump arrived to move the concrete from the trucks down to make the ground floor of the new building

That Same Day ...
Even though it rained, a whole gang of men spread the concrete and smoothed it out over the steel reinforcing mesh.

The Next Day
The builder cut up the timber and started making the frames for the ground floor walls.

Two Days Later ...
Mr McIntyre came to inspect the building progress every morning and found the walls were nearly finished.

Mid November
In spite of all the rain, the wall frames were finished and heavy steel beams were lifted in by a crane to hold up the next floor.

A Week Later
The upstairs floor was laid and the wall frames for the second floor were soon built.
Late November
Heavy wooden beams and big wooden trusses for the roof are now being lifted into place with a special hoist.

Late January
When we came back to school after the holidays the whole building had been covered in. The roof was on and the windows in.

With only a few weeks to go, the scaffolding has gone and the drainlayer is connecting up all the drains.

March19
The painters are working inside and new concrete steps are being built along the outside.

The finishing touches were put on the outside.

One of the new upstairs rooms.
