Over the past four weeks, our Junior School learners have been busy preparing for our annual poetry competition. Each child selected a poem that inspired them and spent time learning how to perform it with confidence, expression, and creativity.
In class, learners practised projecting their voices clearly, using actions and facial expressions to bring their poems to life. It was wonderful to see their growing confidence as they rehearsed and supported one another. Every performance reflected each child’s unique personality and interpretation of their chosen poem.
After class presentations, one finalist from each room was selected to represent their class in the Junior School Poetry Competition. These finalists then performed in front of the entire Junior School, impressing the audience and judges. The judges carefully considered several criteria — including volume, clarity, actions, and expression — before making their final decision.
It was a truly inspiring event, showcasing not only the children’s performance skills but also their courage and determination. Standing up in front of friends and teachers to share a poem takes real bravery, and every participant should feel incredibly proud of their effort and growth.
A huge congratulations to our winners and runners-up, and an even bigger well done to all who took part. You all brought your poems to life in different ways — with rhymes, rhythm, and remarkable performances!
