As part of the Mitey program, Middle School students have been looking at, recognising and understanding that everyone has a different personalities and feelings.
Year 3 have been focusing on friendships and more importantly how to be a good friend. They have explored how positive friendships make people feel included and when others may feel lonely or excluded.
Learners have been working using quality picture books to investigate character traits and actions. Reading the story, ‘Colour The Stars by Dawn McMillan, Ngaere Roberts’ the students recognised that the power of a good friendship can change lives.
Room 23 then wrote about friendship and went on to create wonderful recipes for friendship soup! Those special ingredients such as kindness, respect and trust certainly make a difference.
