Current Focus
The school will be focusing on the following programmes- in the classrooms and as part of the Professional Development programmes for the Staff.
Major Focuses
- Literacy– continue with development of structured Reading, Writing and Oral Language to enhance the teaching and learning of the new English curriculum
- Mathematics– continuing to strengthen interest, knowledge, skills and ability in Maths to enhance the teaching and learning of the new Mathematics curriculum
- Attendance – maintain a focused effort to improve and sustain high attendance across all year levels of the school
- Community Connections – continue to engage and build meaningful connections and recriprocal relationships with our whanau and community
Minor Focuses (One off or follow ups)
- Responsive Curriculum – develop an Owairoa Curriculum that is responsive to personalised learning needs and grounded in the Science of Learning
- ESOL – catering for all learning needs inclusive of CWSN and CWSA
- Enviro – continuing the Green Gold journey
