Year 4 students have been learning about New Zealand’s history of Waitangi Day and ANZAC Day.

In Room 28, the students have learnt about the Waitangi Treaty and how this took several months to travel around New Zealand to be signed by various Rangatira (Chiefs). The students have also learnt about the history of the houses and the Waka which each house is named after.

Students have also been learning about the significance of ANZAC Day. After learning about New Zealand’s involvement in WW1 and the conditions soldiers endured, Room T3 wrote some descriptive poetry about the significance of ANZAC Day and the emotions invoked.
