Making Waves in Learning

From the bright waters of the ocean’s surface to the mysterious depths far below, our senior students have been diving into the wonders of the sea this week. Alongside these discoveries, they have also been completing important PAT assessments that help us understand their learning progress.

During Sea Week, students explored the different layers of the ocean, including the sunlight zone, twilight zone, and midnight zone. They investigated how conditions change as you travel deeper into the sea, learning about differences in light, temperature, and pressure.

Students also researched a variety of marine animals, including deep-sea fish, jellyfish, and sharks. They were fascinated to discover how these creatures survive in extreme environments through special adaptations.

To combine science with creativity, students created sea life artwork, designing detailed drawings of ocean animals and underwater scenes.

At the same time, students completed PAT tests in reading, mathematics, spelling and vocabulary. These assessments help teachers understand students’ strengths and identify areas for further learning.

It has been a week filled with scientific discovery, creativity, and thoughtful learning.
