Schools out for Summer (well nearly…)

By December 7, 2020December 17th, 2020No Comments

It’s been a very busy week for the Senior School students at Owairoa kicking off with Prizegiving on Monday evening. With our usual venue, Elim Church, out of action for the foreseeable future, the award ceremony was held right here in our school hall.

Despite it being hot and humid, the spirit of the event was not dampened as Year 6 students and parents, along with a smattering of Year 5’s and their support, applauded and cheered the night away. The roof threatened to leave the walls of the hall when Mrs Bull announced that Tainui were this year’s winners of the House Shield.

On Friday afternoon, the Senior School were again crammed into the hall to attend the Service Awards ceremony. All of the Year 6’s were deservedly celebrated for navigating a particularly tricky school year and received certificates for the jobs they have been diligently carrying out.

As the year draws to a close, we ask you to stay safe and enjoy a well-deserved Christmas break. See you next year!
