I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new families joining the Senior School this year, and welcome back our returning whānau. It is wonderful to see our students return motivated, confident, and ready to engage with their learning.
The year has begun smoothly, with students settling into their classrooms and routines. Teachers are focused on creating learning environments that are structured, supportive, and engaging, ensuring every student can thrive.
We have eleven Senior School classes: six in Team 5, led by Mr. O’Brien, and five in Team 6, led by Ms. Findley. Nine of these classes are located upstairs in the McIntyre Building, and the remaining two are in Room 26 and Room 20. We are also pleased to welcome Mrs Bernesto as a new teacher in the Senior School this year.
This term, Year 6 students will begin taking on leadership roles across the school. Monitors and other responsibilities are being finalised and will be established shortly, providing opportunities for students to develop confidence, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility within the school community.
We also have a range of enriching experiences planned for the term, from classroom learning to outdoor opportunities. We look forward to a busy and rewarding term, supporting our Senior students as they grow as learners and leaders.
